From May 23rd to 25th, 2025, the 2025 New Energy Safety Technology Conference, hosted by Tsinghua University's Vehicle and Transportation Engineering College and the State Administration for Market Regulation's Key Laboratory (Energy Storage and Power Battery Safety), was held in Beijing. Nanjing Heben Electromechanical Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. was invited to attend the conference, and Mr. Li Changxi, CTO of Nanjing Heben, delivered a keynote speech on "Fire Safety Solutions for Electrochemical Energy Storage Devices: Current Status and Prospects" at the Battery Safety Forum.

Against the backdrop of the booming global new energy industry, energy storage safety issues are becoming increasingly prominent. In his speech, Mr. Li Changxi systematically reviewed the current fire safety challenges facing electrochemical energy storage devices. Through in-depth analysis of typical energy storage accidents in South Korea, Australia, and the United States, he summarized and suggested industry collaboration to improve safety measures, such as strengthening operational safety rules and standards, and improving reviews at various stages, to enhance the safety of energy storage devices.

Mr. Li Changxi, combining the company's core technologies, detailed the multi-dimensional solutions for fire safety of electrochemical energy storage devices. The conference also conducted in-depth discussions on energy storage safety from multiple perspectives: at the technical level, it focused on analyzing thermal runaway risk mitigation solutions, and through typical cases such as California, USA, and VBB, Australia, it illustrated the importance of quality control and testing and verification; in terms of standards and regulations, it detailed the interpretation of energy storage fire regulations in New York City and Victoria, Australia, including core requirements such as capacity thresholds and system parameters; in the testing and verification phase, it systematically introduced the methodology of large-scale fire testing (LSFT) and put forward improvement suggestions for common industry misunderstandings. These professional discussions provide valuable practical references for improving energy storage safety levels.
